TV radio man Rob Astbury dies, 69

Former 0/10 and Nine sports journalist Rob Astbury has died on the Gold Coast.

Rob started his career on radio in Melbourne (not sure which station but there was a reference to 3UZ) before moving to ATV 0/10 then Nine

During his career he won an unprecedented ten VFL/AFL Media Awards and was twice nominated for a Best News Story Logie.

In the early 90s he moved on from media to a career in real estate in South East Asia before returning to Australia where he was a senior agent with Ray White at Broadbeach.

In later years Rob was probably more famous as Graham Kennedy’s long term partner which he turned into a book The King & I – My Life With Graham Kennedy.

Rob Astbury was 69.
